Maths Magician

What is Maths Magician?

Maths Magician is a 20-week numeracy scheme using ‘scenarios’ based on practical situations to solve puzzles.

How does it work?

An information sheet for each week will be displayed in the DARC. These will correspond to questions your Maths Magician pack.

How do I join?

You will firstly need to collect your Maths Magician pack from the DARC. This will consist of a workbook and first set of weekly information sheets. Complete each week's exercise and bring it to the information desk to be checked before waiting for next week's activity!

An Award Winning Scheme...

The DARC is a previous winner of the CoLRic Best Practice Award for its Maths Magician numeracy support scheme.

The Best Practice Awards are national awards that are designed to highlight excellence in Library initiatives that really make a difference. CoLRiC commented that the scheme ‘demonstrates excellent practice in engaging students in numeracy skills’.

Entries were shortlisted by the CoLRiC Executive Committee and winners were chosen by an independent judge. The Library was presented with the award at a very special 25th Anniversary CoLRiC Conference in June 2018.
