Tom's dreaming of a white Moomin...

Tom in Moominland

After picking up 'Moomin and the Winter Snow' (see below) for some bedtime reading, Tom falls in to the book and ends up in Moominland... or so he thought, before discovering it was all just a dream!

(Tom is a very big fan of Moomins!)

Moomin and the Winter Snow

Winter has come to Moominvalley which means that it's time for Moomintroll's best friend, Snufkin, to travel south. All the excitement of the falling snow does nothing to comfort Moomintroll whose sadness at his friend's departure is movingly captured in Tove Jansson's illustrations. What will make him feel better? Gently exploring the nature of friendship, this is a picture book for all ages.

Moomin and the Winter Snow

Christmas Word of the Day

A supernatural creature of folk tales, typically represented as a small, delicate, elusive figure in human form with pointed ears, magical powers, and a capricious nature. Association with Christmas comes from the many depictions of elves making toys in Santa's workshop.

In recent years, Elf on a Shelf has become a popular activity during the lead up to Christmas.
